Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behaviour. Have you ever wondered why you had done something? Have you looked at others and thought; why did they do that? Most of us ask these questions of ourselves and others. Psychology aims to offer explanations about why people think and act the way they do.

You will learn about the reasons behind people’s behaviour, as well as the role and function that psychology plays in society. You will learn about sleep, dreams and sleep disorders, conformity and obedience as well as research methods, experiments, terminology and the people who have made contributions to the development of psychology. This course also aims to help you develop a critical eye; that is to say you will be looking at what psychological approaches have to offer but you will also be looking at the limitations of each approach.
