The library at Newbattle is an oasis of calm. It was the private library of the Marquis of Lothian and is part of the old house dating back to the 17th Century. You can still see the gas lamps on the William Morris fireplace.

Students now use it for private study or for reading the days newspapers. It has a well-organised array of books for all your studies which you can take out on loan.

The library has been organised in line with the Dewey Decimal System, preserving non-Dewey areas such as reference, careers, study skills and environmental science. There is also a careers section and higher education section.
