Join our Beginners Beekeeping Class
Wednesdays, 16 May – 20 June 2018, 7pm-9pm
This course is designed for those interested in starting up as a beekeeper. It would also be of interest to gardeners who would like to contribute to the survival of the bee and those who are interested in the healing properties of hive by products such as pollen, propolis and honey.
You will be introduced to the ancient art of beekeeping and will learn about the science of honey bee reproduction and honey production. The spring course begins just as the bees are starting to become more active after the long winter rest. You will learn about this fascinating little insect, its preferred habitat, the impact it has on the natural world, how it makes and stores honey and what you might do as a beekeeper to help the honey bee survive in an increasingly alien world.
