Who this course is for
This 1 year, full-time course is part of the Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP) and has been designed to meet the needs of adult learners who have been out of formal education for 3 years or more (or 5 years if you already have Higher or HN qualifications). There can be special circumstances where an applicant has failed exams or an HNC programme within the last 3-5 years because of illness or family circumstances. Please enquire if you are not sure.

Successful completion of this course allows you access to higher education (including the HNC in Social Sciences here at Newbattle Abbey College). Over 75% of our students progress to higher education programmes every year. Currently our students are studying Literature, Politics, Psychology, Social Work and History in a range of universities across Scotland
