Wedding Facilities
Ceremonies
The College is the perfect setting for a Wedding Ceremony. Whether you are planning an intimate religious Ceremony in our 19th Century Chapel, where we can accommodate 50 guests, or a Civil Ceremony or Partnership in our medieval Crypt or Drawing Room, where we can accommodate 80 to 100 guests respectively, we are delighted to accommodate your special wedding requirements.
Wedding Meal
The stunning Drawing Room was designed by the noted Edinburgh architect Thomas Bonnar and completed in the 1870’s. Restoration of the Drawing Room was finalised in January 2007. The Drawing Room can accommodate 80 guests for a Wedding meal.

Catering
To maintain standards we ask you to use one of our Recommended Caterers. They have all worked at the College many times and will be able to answer all of your catering queries.
Weddings with a difference
‘For a wedding with a difference, why not combine the backdrop of medieval Newbattle Abbey with the historic Lady Victoria Colliery. These unique venues are only a mile apart and will give you a memory to last forever. At Newbattle Abbey, wedding ceremonies can be celebrated in the atmospheric Crypt, the small but intimate Victorian Chapel or in a number of other special spaces. The Italian gardens and surroundings are an unrivalled location for photographs and meals can be enjoyed in the grandeur of the magnificent Drawing Room. Afterwards, guests can enjoy the evening reception in the spacious Powerhouse at the Lady Victoria Colliery. Visit www.scottishminingmuseum.com for Powerhouse costings and availability’
